Montana and Yellowstone NP

Wednesday 5 November 2008

Since I’ve never been to Montana nor Yellowstone National Park, I decided I would visit Ginny in Missoula, Montana and rent a car and drive down to Yellowstone. Ginny and Ron moved back to Montana after I had been at there place in Chico, CA two years ago. Even though we just spent two days together, it was really, really great to see them again.

The western part of Montana is quite hilly and the drive down to Bozeman was everything but boring. It’s about an three hour drive if you don’t stop.
In Bozeman I stayed at Roses and Nicoles place (they are both CouchSurfer) for the night and headed out to West Yellowstone early in the morning. Driving through Yellostone reminded me of some other tectonic active places I have seen, like Lassen Volcanic NP or Iceland.
