Barossa Valley & Adelaide

Tuesday 22 February 2011

I finished my last post with “The Great Ocean Road is waiting for us!” – well….. it still is! And it still will for quiet a while, because we didn’t make it: We messed up our route. Apparently our brains were on holidays (or rather one was, the other one was way too busy working), but we booked a motel on the direct route. The “Western Highway” runs inland between Melbourne and Adelaide – about 200km from the coast and thus the Great Ocean Road.

So we missed out on Kangaroo Island, Seahorses in Victor Harbor and Seals at the Fleurieu Peninsula.
It turned out okay though, because it gave us a bit more time to see the Barossa Valley, have some wine tastings and spend 2 almost full days in Adelaide. Adelaide is a unique city, the CBD is square and has a green-belt all around it. Only then you get into lots of small residential areas. I didn’t download any photos off my camera, so I’ll update this post with pictures at a later stage.

We are now on our way to Darwin where we’ll spend 2 nights and then head on to Bali.

Hi guys, let us know how Bali was when you get back.

I could have taken a few days off and carried your luggage for you. :D
